Wadi Rum Visitors Centre

There are many ways to make your desert experience unforgettable, whether you plan to stay for just a few hours or for several days. Wadi Rum stunning natural feature and intriguing archaeological sites can be enjoyed in a variety of ways; Tours, camel safaris, walks and hikes of any length (from half an hour to several days), stays in Bedouin style tents with typical entertainment (food, music, coffee etc.) are possible within the protected Area and are all organized from the visitors’ center.

Wadi Rum Visitors Centre should be your first port of call, opposite the Seven Pillars of Wisdom, the mountain named after Lawrence of Arabia’s book. Providing the main gateway to the protected area and has all the facilities, information and services visitors will need, including reception areas, interpretation halls, a vista for panoramic photos of Wadi Rum and the seven pillars, restaurants and craft shops.

       

All vehicle tours operators and entrance fees to the protected area are collected at the gates, so all visitors are required to call in before proceeding with their itinerary. Visitors taking in private 4×4 vehicles also need to register at the centre.

A standard fee is charged to all visitors entering the visitor centre and protected area. These fees are used to help local Bedouin communities and pay for the protection of Wadi Rum. The present fees are as follows:

  • 5 Jordanian Dinars for international visitors

  • 1 Jordanian Dinar per person for Jordanians and residents.

  • 0.5 Jordanian Dinar  for Jordanian students

  • Children under 12 years are free.

  • Other services, such as jeep and camel tours, are charged separately according to the official rate

  • Prices are subjected to changes all visitors should check with Wadi Rum Visitor center prior before their visit .
